The core beliefs I received growing up was that I was not good enough. I was not smart, I was not innovative, I was not creative, and while I wasn't necessarily TOLD these things, it didn't stop me from receiving these messages through body language and actions of my caregivers or teachers. I share some of the things in my life that are pointing me in the direction of noticing that I may have ADHD, and while I'm not clinging hard for a diagnosis how a diagnosis would really empower me and heal a lot of the parts of myself that were beaten (sometimes literally) because I was not understanding and getting things people were trying to teach me. I really hope that by sharing my story, this helps so many others out there suspecting they may have ADHD to go out and do something about it. Learn what your needs are. Advocate for those needs.
