At Level Three your child can explore books on their own, turning pages and looking at pictures. They can spend several minutes looking at a book together with you.
Gradually extend the amount of time your child looks at books. Don’t force it.
Today’s activity: Follow your child’s lead. Turn the page when they want, point to one thing and comment, wait for a response from your child. Talk about what your child is looking at or doing.
Visit www.TheInteractionCoach.com to see the directory of speech-language pathologists licensed in your area. If you can’t find one in the directory, contact me at [email protected] and I’ll track down someone for you.
