We currently live in an "Outrage Culture" where people are encouraged in multiple ways to be angry and upset about things. In the midst of this, many people misuse the story of Jesus turning over the tables and driving out folks with a whip in the temple. Yes, this is a critique of the temple and Jewish leaders of the day, but perhaps it is a misrepresentation of the text to suggest that we can use it in support of our angry tirades. Perhaps we should be more prone to "let our gentleness be evident to all" as Paul writes in Philippians.
