We would all like a shortcut to glory. Yet to follow Jesus on a path where the cross comes before the crown, well, that puts us out of step with the world. Thankfully, the determination required to walk this path starts with Jesus and not us. Because of his determination, we are offered a glory far superior to anything the world can offer. 

The Bible reading for this message is Jeremiah 26:8-15.
