What if I did know what to do? Did you know that asking your brain that question when in a moment of indecision, it actually starts to look for the answer. You can apply that here too! In 'acting as if' in early recovery, you end up asking your brain, "If I were abstinent in this moment, what choice would I make?" Try it, I bet your brain will give you the answer of what a recovered person would do, and then you can choose to do that thing!
Within each of us lies the capacity to find gratitude in the blessings that have come from our messes. If you're struggling to find it on your own and desire to have it, reach out, mindset coaching with me can help you get there.
