32. Accelerate Failure to Succeed Faster
Increasing speed by failing faster might seem counterintuitive yet it is the exact method used by CEOs of multi-million dollar companies. On today’s episode, you are investing your time to learn about the principle of accelerated failure and how it can serve your business or team.
In his book Ready, Fire, Aim, Michael Masterson discusses the principle of accelerated failure, which is the idea to become more efficient overtime by learning from mistakes and thus gradually increasing your ratio of success over failures. He offers a great example in his book, but to make it more personal, I want to share my own example of a failure from my professional past and how it applies to this principle.
I also share with you the three strategies or mindsets that are necessary in order to successfully incorporate the principle of accelerated failure in your business or health, including:
- Failure is part of the process. It’s okay to fail.
- Most of your good ideas will fail.
- Our clients or results make the decision on what’s a failure or a success.
This principle is incredibly powerful and can save you time and money when implemented. Please keep in mind, while I focused primarily on how accelerated failure applies to your business, this same principle can be applied in your health.
