"The Time Guardian" is an unholy alliance between The Terminator, Mad Max, Star Wars, and a healthy dose of Bladerunner. It doesn't work as a movie, metaphor, or story. But it has its moments, and (spoiler for a 38-year-old movie) Carrie at least gets a heroic--if stupid--death.
