Requirements to become a Navy mortician:

  • Graduate Mortuary School
  • Take the National Board
  • Decide which state you would want to be licensed in.  (Some have dual license, some are separate Embalming and Funeral Director.)  Don’t choose Colorado, they don’t have a state license.
  • Do an apprenticeship at a local funeral home.
  • Take their state board exam.
