"My parents bought me this album called JAZZMATAZZ by Guru. It was surprising to me listening to a new concept of Jazz blended with Hip-Hop. From an early stage, I was lucky enough to be able to discover a beautiful world." Denis was 14, and that album completely changed his view and approach to music. Most importantly, it was the first piece of the puzzle to discover different sounds, from house music with Nuyorican Soul to Acid Jazz with Jamiroquai and Incognito. His trips to London in the late 90s - enjoying the legendary Bar Rumba club nights founded by Gilles Peterson - and the first festival experience at Big Chill- led him to create Jazz:Re:Found. Certainly, one of the best Boutique Jazz Festivals in Italy, with great attention to the new wave of UK jazz. In today's interview, Denis talks about his musical background, the route into the festival industry, and what to expect from the fourteenth edition of Jazz:Re:Found. Listen in to get inspired!
