The World Uncut

32. Remembering 9/11

Listen Later

9/11 Forever changed the world we live in.

To mark the 20th Anniversary of a day in living history that can't be forgotten, Nathan takes a trip down an uncomfortable, and at times confronting, memory lane of 9/11.

In the back half of the episode Nathan sits down with and recounts the emotions and memories of the day with James, An Englishman in Perth at the time, watching in the wee hours. Kelley also joins us recounting her memories, waking up in Calgary to the horror unfolding hours away.  Henry, in Los Angeles gives his take as an American living through the day, and Jono, a sports reporter in Australia offers his perspective, having woken up to a changed world.

It's a day that should never be forgotten and we encourage anyone who gets the chance to visit New York, the greatest city in the world, to please go and take the time to immerse yourself in the history of 9/11 at the Memorial and the Museum. It is well worth the price of admission and the moments to reflect peacefully on that awful day.
