In a quiet Los Angeles neighbourhood, a brutal and baffling crime is discovered. A businessman is dead, having been shot three times. The only other person in the house is his wife, but she is trapped in a closet that has been locked from the outside. However, neighbours report hearing strange noises coming from the property, shadows passing before its windows and ghostly scratching emanating from the attic.
