I am CEO of The 80% podcast empire (net worth: zero euro) and Ellen is CEO, and creator, of award-winning wax brand and salon Waxperts. Hmmmm. So much in common...eh...Ellen is incredibly successful but it hasn’t always been easy which she talked candidly to me about. She started her business in 2008 at the start of the recession (a great time to start a business) and in under ten years Ellen, along with her best friend and business partner Trish, have built their company into a solid gold brand. Ellen and Trish were a dream and they even gave me a Waxperts advent calendar as I left. I had hoped there would be a tiny amount of wax behind each door and I could have gathered them all, heated them up on Christmas Eve and given myself a festive leg wax. Unfortunately, there’s just plain old chocolate inside them; they missed a trick there. Hey, there's always next year.
