Six years after the Three Lions had knocked Wales down to 117th in the Fifa rankings, The Dragons had undergone a major reset and came into the tournament in the top 10, sitting pretty above their opponents for today's game.

Roy Hodgson found himself in the England hot-seat after a sub-par World Cup two years previous, but had the likes of Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Leicester's Premier League winning hero Jamie Vardy to call upon.

In the Red corner, Wales felt unstoppable with Galactico Gareth Bale leading the charge.
