I grew up being so freaking scared of going to hell. I would hear preachers quoting the Bible, saying, "The Kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe in the gospel." (Mark 1:15) I was taught that repentance meant groveling, begging God up in the sky for forgiveness. That's not what the word means. Repent means a change of mind. So, knowing the kingdom of God is within us, we are called to have a radical change of thinking and believe the gospel, or good news. That good news is that the power and wisdom of God, Jesus Christ, "I Am," is within us. It is us.
