33. Polar Breeze

This thing that we are doing.

This way that rules our day.

This curated rage we are consuming.

This spirit of enmity that leads our way.

It leads us far from freedom,

instead feeds us fear and tucks us in.

Because we are what is consuming us

consuming ourselves, from within.

The way that we are going,

the way we treat our fellow-selves.

As we fight with each other

over finite resources on finite shelves.

Our culture is a buffet of attachments,

and the collective ego is engorged.

Such a silly game we inflict on Us

squabbling over a preference scoreboard.

So, what then is our way forward?

What is the future we will co-create?

I believe it will be love…

flowering from oneness

within the present moment.

Polar opposites masquerading as politics

manifests instead only hate.

So, the fruit of separate egos

the fruit of sins disease

is that I guess it should

feel this gut-wrenching

as the hope of America,

blows away in a polar breeze.
