Today’s guest is Veronica Rahim. Veronica is a senior career services consultant here at the Purdue CCO. As a consultant, she helps students find their passions and future jobs. Have you ever been asked an interview question that starts with, “Tell me about a time…”? These are called behavioral-based questions, and in my opinion, are always tricky to answer. Because unlike traditional questions that may ask for you to list your strengths and weaknesses, behavioral questions call for students to describe specific times they have had to overcome problems, use specific skills, or work in groups. Veronica is on the show today because she is going to talk about how behavioral-based questions can be answered by using the STAR method. The STAR method is a great approach as it can communicate student's skills and capabilities to an interviewer. So without further ado, here's my conversation with Veronica.
