FACT: Bras were invented in France in the 1890s. Originally called a “corselet gorge,” The undergarment we know as “the bra” did not come to get its modern name until 1907 when Vogue printed the word “brassiere” to describe the piece of lingerie.
REACT: So now we know a little bit more about when bras were invented and got their name. But: Do we like bras?
FACT: Did you know Times Square in New York City is named after the New York Times? The name of the bustling intersection was changed after the newspaper moved there in 1904. Before it was called Times Square, it was known as Longacre Square.
