Raghuram Rajan's final policy statement as RBI governor was never likely to contain many fireworks, partially because we knew he wasn't going to cut any rates, and also because of his own understated and deft style, but say what you will about the Government's handling of a remarkable intellect, the question deserves to be asked as to whether Rajan himself is guilty of being driven away too easily from his own country and work without adequately putting forth his case. Also, the scrap business comes to India, China's takes trains to another level, and things start looking a little better for team India at the Olympics!
