Tess Connolly LCSW talks with Lalaine Frankel about how to manage sibling rivalry especially with tweens and teens. Things shift at this time and we have to look at different ways to manage the changes in how we handle situations we are faced with when this happens. Lalaine offers us some tips and strategies on how we can manage sibling rivalry in our homes as our children reach the tween and teen age.

• She tells us about her six step process C.R.E.A.T.E. that she uses within her 1-1 coaching program for coping with sibling rivalry. 
• Tess and Lalaine talk about the concept that fighting can be a good thing within a family as it creates an opportunity for them to learn how to deal with conflict and gain skills that they benefit from by resolving the conflicts that come up with their siblings.
• Lalaine shares some of the common struggles that tweens and teens face around sibling rivalry. 
• Tess and Lalaine discuss how tweens and teens are still looking for approval from their parents at this age and also the conflict that comes from boundaries and respecting each other's space and belongings through this developmental time. 
• Lalaine shares with us some ways that parents can manage sibling rivalry through the tween and teen stage. 
• Lalaine talks about the importance of having a plan of how you face sibling rivalry within your family and the importance of talking about it and discussing how you are going to resolve conflicts as a whole family so everyone is on the same page.

• Lalaine is most grateful for all the squabbles that her children had as that has given her the experience that has helped her help other parents.
