The truth I hold self-evident is that the war for independence was not about all men being equal. This war was fought over the greed of a colonial aristocracy bent on their own expansion of wealth. That wealth could only come with new appropriation of lands which required the genocide of Native peoples and the expansion of slavery. Both of which Great Britain was obstructing. This was the "tyranny" these British colonists were willing to kill their countrymen over.
