In this episode I connect with now retired Chance Burles. Chance served with the Military from 2005 to 2013. Chance also served in Afghanistan in 2008 as a combat engineer. During his training and active tour Chance saw traumatic events which would later contribute to him forming PTSD.
Chance reflects openly about his PTSD, depression and anxiety. Chance also acknowledges where his struggles were most apparent and ultimately how he knew he had to eventually challenge himself to begin to heal.
Chance reflects how his anger and irritability became a dominant emotion at times prior to understanding his own PTSD. Chance would later go on to retire and focus on his healing. He also runs a successful podcast "Tools for the Toolbox" where Chance helps others navigate the complex challenges that can come from PTSD and service life.
Thank you Chance for your service and your sacrifice!
