Shiv Gettu started his Real estate journey in 2018 after recently graduating from USC. He wanted to figure out a way to earn more on the side and not have to rely solely on a single source of income. After reading an article on Airbnb arbitrage, Shiv decided to narrow down on his real estate niche and pursue a short-term rental business with his now business partner Kendrick Bradley. They got their first Airbnb unit in December 2018, and by July 2019 they had 15+ properties they were managing while working full-time jobs. In August of 2019, they decided to raise venture capital to grow their business and take it full time. After successfully raising a round of funding, they quit their jobs to solely pursue their business. Astro is now a 10+ member team and is in 13+ cities across the country. Along with short-term rental property management, Astro is looking to pioneer a new way of investing in apartment syndication by specializing in furnished housing. Their advisement team collectively brings over 50+ years of real estate experience, $300M+ assets under management, and 1000+ units. Astro is pioneering a new way of staying for its guests and generating a meaningful return for their investors.
