The map of Japan was completed in 1821. The map of Japan was drawn by one man who spent 16 years surveying the whole country on foot. It is a tremendous achievement. Did you know that although Japan is depicted as small on world maps, it is actually a surprisingly large country? It is the 61st largest of the world's 201 countries.
