In this week’s episode, I chat with my friend, Kloe, for a timely conversation on the importance of the local church and getting plugged into real community. Kloe and I met during our YWAM (Youth With A Mission) DTS while we were living in California together in a house of 12 girls. Since then, she’s gotten married and has planted roots with her husband, Ty, in their home state of Washington. She shares how in this season she’s shifted her longtime desire for missions to serving in a different capacity within her local church. She and Ty have started a weekly gathering for young adults, called The Table, where they’ve witnessed firsthand Gen Z hungry for the real Jesus, not a diluted version of The Gospel. Our conversation emphasizes the importance of committed church community, intergenerational discipleship, and serving in “unglamorous” ways. It’s encouraging and packed full of practical advice on how to get plugged in, where to get plugged in, and why to get plugged in to fellowship with other believers.

The audio in this episode is a little fuzzy and laggy at times, but I hope you’ll stick around and your glass gets filled regardless 🤎

What is Empty Glasses Podcast, and what makes it different?
I believe there’s so much power in getting real, raw, and honest about who we are, where we’ve come from, and what we’ve learned along the way, and from my experience, many of those conversations have happened while communing around a table, as we sip and dine together. That’s my heart behind empty glasses — it’s a podcast geared towards telling real stories by real people. So, I invite you to be a part of these conversations; grab your drink of choice and join us at the table. There’s a seat for you here.
