He has written scripts, series television, and documentaries for for MGM, Disney, Paramount, and Universal studios as well as independent producers in Nashville, New York, London, and Los Angeles.
For 19 years, he taught screenwriting at Vanderbilt University, and later served as the Chair of the Motion Pictures Department at Belmont University. He does script consulting and gives writing workshops and seminars around the world.
