This week on No Magic we go into the archives and feature the increadible debut record from The Good, The Bad, and the Queen; one of Damon Albarn's many groups, bringing together Albarn, Paul Simonon of The Clash, Simon Tong of The Verve and The Magnetic North, and Tony Allen of Fela Kuti. I honestly get chills thinking about this record, so packed with perfect tonal inflections, and a warm, rusty tone that makes it compulsive listening as the sun streams in through morning windows, or late at night as the world closes in. The influences of its contributors — especially Simonon — are bold and add something really significant to Albarns recognisable vocals. We'll play a load of music from the band's other projects and major influences.
Also, we're joined in the studio this week by Radical Advice host Lily Sloane.
