Hazel Sinnett has a dream. It is to become a female physician in a male dominated society. Unfortunately, her status as a woman does not allow her to partake in the physician's course she has been eyeing for months.
So, she makes deal with the leading physician of her time. If she can pass the physician's exam at the end of the semester without taking the course, she may be licensed as a physician. That is how she finds herself recruiting the help of resurrection man, Jack Currer, and tumbling headfirst into all sorts of unladylike activities.
