Despite initial difficulties, the team gradually improved, achieving a 7-3 record in their fifth year of varsity and even hosting a first round playoff game.
He attributed their success to the relentless spirit of the players, who focused on what they had rather than what they lacked. Sprunk emphasized the importance of continuous learning and sticking to one's core values in coaching. Coach Sprunk and Justin discussed their passion for coaching and the importance of "pouring into kids". Despite the challenges that come with coaching, they believe that the rewards are worth the effort. The team is currently facing numerous injuries, with eight starters on defense and the quarterback out due to an ACL injury. However, they are starting to get healthy and are working to establish their team identity.
