At 6pm on November 13, 1974, 23 year old Butch Defeo walked into a bar and announced that his entire family had been murdered in their home at 112 Ocean Drive in Amityville, NY. After a childhood of abuse, and suffering a serious head injury, Butch had grown into a violent, substance abusing adult who had been threatening to kill everyone in his life for years. Was he responsible for the brutal murder of his parents and 4 siblings, or was it actually one of the many people he’s attempted to implicate in the years following the murders?
