Affirmation and Denial
"By far the larger part of our thinking processes are automatic, casting the images of their acceptances into the Universal Mind that reacts upon them. Thus it is that fear can bring about a condition of failure, while faith can reverse it. In spiritual mind treatment, affirmation and denial are for the purpose of erasing the wrong thought patterns and establishing correct ones. This practice is both scientific and effective in that a denial tends to erase the negative conviction, while an opposite affirmation tends to establish a new thought pattern that works as automatically as the negative one did.
The whole theory of affirmation and denial in spiritual mind treatment is built upon an understanding that the Mind-Principle accepts the inward meaning and feeling of the words that our conscious mind utters. The Mind-Principle is like a mirror; therefore, the argument must bring out an evidence that causes our whole inward being to accept the affirmation we make, whether it be a declaration of supply, health, happiness, or success. If we practice this method and watch the result of this simple process, we will discover that an argument logically presented to this Mind-Principle will produce a definite result. Today I affirm the All-Good, and in this affirmation I accept the presence of love and repudiate every belief that hate has any power. I affirm peace and deny confusion. I affirm joy and declare that sadness has no place in my consciousness. I affirm that God is over all, in all, and through all. There is nothing in my past that can limit me or limit my future. There is One Life, that Life is God, that Life is the only life there is, and that Life is my life now."
"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void." —ISAIAH 55:11
