Universal Law Is My Armor Against Negative Experiences He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. —PSALM 9:1 "We all seek the protecting power of some presence that we feel to be close enough to reach out and take hold of. As the child turns to its parents for comfort, and as in adulthood we turn to such laws as we have instituted for our protection, so intuitively we all seek divine protection. Every person is relying on God whether or not this is consciously recognized. The concept of a Supreme Presence is so universal that it is present in every age, with all people, and at all times. It would be a mockery of faith to deny that such a Presence exists or that such a Power operates. Those who have wrought great and mighty works through faith have actually believed and have had complete confidence in divine protection.
To this Divine Presence, Jesus gave the name of “Our Father which art in heaven,” which means the Spirit of Life—Divine Intelligence—within me, the protecting power of Spirit around me. Here was a man whose vision dared to penetrate the invisible, one who placed his hand serenely in the invisible Hand with implicit confidence. No one can doubt that his works justified his words, that his faith was manifest through his acts. Nothing has happened to Reality since this glorious soul walked the highways of human experience. God, or Life, is the same yesterday, today, and forever. With equal confidence we should be able to believe in the protecting Presence and the ever-available Spirit. Today, I put on the whole armor of faith. I wrap myself in the mantle of divine protection. I fear no evil, knowing that there is a Divine government of good, that there is a power available to me. I know that “underneath are the everlasting arms,” the girders of divine protection.”
