Both Can Be True with Nona

37. Both Can Be True in a World That Demands a Side

Listen Later

In this episode, I’m pulling back another layer.

Not the curated layer.

Not the professional layer.

Not the “I’ve already integrated this” layer.

The real one.

We are living in a time that feels increasingly dichotomous — black or white, right or wrong, with us or against us. Social media amplifies it. News cycles feed it. Cancel culture reinforces it. And slowly, almost imperceptibly, our nervous systems adapt to it.

Our survival brains go into overdrive.

When survival brain is driving, nuance disappears. Curiosity disappears. Authenticity starts to shrink. And before we know it, we’re self-censoring, picking sides we’re not fully aligned with, or staying quiet out of fear of criticism, judgment, or exile.

But as human beings, we were never meant to live in a rigid binary.

In this episode, I explore what it means to:

Stay rooted in your authenticity when the world demands allegiance.

Notice when your survival brain is hijacking your voice.

Hold complexity without collapsing into extremes.

Reclaim nuance, curiosity, and sovereignty in how much information you consume.

Practice “both can be true” as a nervous system regulation strategy — not just a philosophy.

This is a conversation about courage.About discernment.About protecting your energy and your voice.About learning to stay human in a world that profits off polarization.

You don’t have to pick a side to be powerful. You don’t have to abandon nuance to belong. You don’t have to silence yourself to stay safe.

Both can be true.

And maybe your authenticity lives in the gray.
