When you choose to play a game, the exchange being made is usually fairly simple; you trade some of your time in exchange for entertainment, be it in the form of a run and gun shooter, a tricky puzzle to be solved, a world to explore or a story to experience. Just like some films or albums or other works of art, however, some games can ask a bit more of you. They require a bit more in exchange for what they can share in return. Death Stranding fits this bill, on paper offering only what at times can sound obtuse, pretentious, or even downright boring. But, like an ogre, there are many layers worth digging through. Travis, having completed Hideo Kojima's latest and certainly his greatest, aims to set the record straight week, while Andrew and Ethan spend some time with separate entries of an older, yet equally important series: BioShock. Drew and Travis also take some time to give their thoughts on Man of Medan, the first of Supermassive Games's playable horror movie anthology series and we'll just say, we aren't all dead yet. Take-Two is in the news this week talking about its experience with publishing games straight to Xbox Game Pass and reminding us that two of their studios are, in fact, making new games. Blizzard knows you hate what they did with Warcraft III and says you can have all your money back, System Shock 3 is dead in the water, Casey Hudson swears people still care what's happening next with Anthem, Gears of War's big honcho is headed to more evil pastures, and Ubisoft is releasing ALL of the games this year.
