What started out as a personal journey to find beautiful lights for their forever home, turned into a love affair with lighting for Marie Botsis-Premici and her husband Gino Premici. While travelling in New York, they discovered their dream pendants in Montauk, at the tip of Long Island. 

Before long, after identifying a need in the market and keen to share their passion for lighting with others, Marie left her career as a commercial lawyer and, together with Gino, founded the Montauk Lighting Co - Australian luxury lighting supplier of designer lighting brands such as Visual Comfort, Tom Dixon, Tigermoth and more. 

I sat down with Marie to chat about the values that drive the company today, why lighting matters and how layering beautiful lighting in our home is not only practical but elevates our senses and supports our well-being.
