Last week, Patagonia announced “Earth is our only shareholder”, with the founder Yvon Chouinard donating the company, worth $3 billion, into charitable trusts (2% to Patagonia Purpose Trust, and 98% into Holdfast Collective), effectively “giving away” the majority of his wealth.
