Less than lethal weapons are being touted as more sensible and humane tools for law enforcement to deal with disturbances and subdue individuals. However, do not be fooled by the name; these weapons, which include: rubber bullets, tear gas, Tasers, and stun grenades can cause serious damage. And they do not address the larger problems such as racism and poverty. Maybe the more important question is why they are needed at all.
