Antibiotics save lives and for treating a number of common and more serious infections. However, studies show plenty of antibiotics are prescribed unnecessarily. The Health Ministry’s infectious disease national head Datuk Dr Christopher Lee cautions that Malaysia is fast becoming a nation of antibiotic pill poppers.
