We here about System on a Chip (SoC) builds in phones, but now Apple is bringing that architecture to the Mac. In short, a SoC is a Chip that contains CPU, RAM and other input and output components. This approach to computing is usually great for performance and integration, but can appear user hostile when it comes to upgrades in the future.
