Art Activator Andrea Hamann talks about Art for Bales, an initiative with Kate Pittas in support of Australia’s farmers suffering by the current drought situation.
  • Andrea is an artist and mum based in the Southern Highlands
  • Art for Bales started after speaking to a farmer about the recent drought situation and how difficult it is to feed their animals
  • The idea sparked when her friend and fellow artist Kate Pittas said that she would donate the sale price of a painting to buy a bale – and the painting sold instantly!
  • Art for Bales initially started with 10 artists and has now grown to over 200 artists through Instagram and raised over $54,000 in just 3 weeks
