De-Mystifying the Nutrition Conversation, Pt. 2
FAKTR Podcast Episode 38
Featuring:
Christopher Marvin, DC
EPISODE SUMMARY
When it comes to patient care, providers must consider many different variables that contribute to each person’s overall health. But having the nutrition conversation isn’t always an easy one–most people are very set in their ways when it comes to their eating habits and there are definitely negative connotations involved with using the word “diet” and it certainly isn’t easy to ask someone to “cut back” when the food and drinks we consume are such a big part of our daily lives.
In today's episode, we will conclude our two-part training on De-Mystifying Nutrition with Dr. Christopher Marvin. We will discuss some simple and easy-to-follow guidelines for meeting your patients where they are when it comes to reaching their nutritional goals. We will also talk about ways to help patients find the best foods for them without demonizing or labeling foods as good/bad. Finally, we will dispel common misunderstandings and discuss nutrition’s role in recovery and healing.
Hopefully by the conclusion of today's episode, you will no longer dread having the nutrition conversation with your patients, and are well-equipped with the strategy to help your patients walk away feeling empowered to make a positive change in their relationship with food.
