for food in a world

where many walk in hunger

for faith in a world

where many walk in fear

for my family in a world

where many walk alone

even in our sleep

pain that we cannot forget

falls drop by drop upon the heart

until in our own despair

and against our will

comes wisdom from the awful grace of god
