Rev. Erick du Toit brings today's reflection from Kirkliston Parish Church, Scotland.
REST(Matthew 11: 25-30)
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.
Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Jesus invites us to come to him. Why? Becasue only He can give us real contentment and rest for our souls. His yoke is easy and his burden is light.
So how come I feel so overwhelmed and exhausted most of the time? Am I doing something wrong? And if so... how can I fix it?
In this week’s passage we're exlporing the significance of what it meanse to truly follow Jesus into a place of rest.
