#38: There's no pumpkin in pumpkin spice
Have you ever considered how “pumpkin” is a really strange word if you type it out enough times? I have, right now. No special guest this week, but for the playlist I made that's too long. Let's see how this goes.
Our album of the week comes from Yeah Yeah Yeahs, whose 2009 record It's Blitz was the subject of some obsession on my part when it first came out. It saw them successfully channel the dance-tinged aspects of their punk sound into synthesizers, and still rock out. It's fun to highlight records from bands that aren't necessarily the “go-to” (that would obviously be YYY's debut Fever to Tell.) And hey, it includes a song named “Skeletons”, we're dipping our toes fully into the season, over here.
