Brit Ponsett was heading towards the Jefferson Ranch where he had signed up for a round up when his horse Scar lost a shoe and he had to head to Clay City. The Blacksmith informed Brit that the previous night in Clay City the Fargo Station had been held up and a man left dead. Brit decided to go and see his old friend the sheriff.
