Lila and William Young seemed like a match made in heaven. With no children of their own, the couple started the Ideal Maternity Home in the late 1920s in East Chester, Nova Scotia, as a safe haven for unwed women to deliver their babies in secret. In return, Lila and William gave the babies to a good home with adoptive parents. But this was all just a front for greed, lies, and murder. And hundreds of infants would become known as the Butterbox Babies.
