Samantha Meurant is a seriously passionate creative, an artist, coach & entrepreneur living in Cunnamulla, SW QLD, she is also a mother and wife. Living a creative life holds a lot of importance to Samantha and this shines through all aspects of her business. Working as a professional artist for many years now, she felt a strong pull to both entrepreneurship and helping others live a creative life.

Meet my guest

Well my name is Steph and I have been creating since I was about 5 years old. Inspired by my beautiful mother who used to line our small hallway with brown paper so we could “draw on the walls!” (I am 1 of 10 children, so heaps of fun!!) This paper was changed weekly and encouraged, so for me, art making was always around and very much encouraged. I am a mother to 4 beautiful healthy children. We live on a sheep and wool property near Jugiong NSW.

I struggled at school in the “traditional academics”, so my art was my voice and I feel so blessed to have this gift and ‘life tool’ to share with others. My Artworks evoke an emotion in the viewer, it ‘cracks’ a smile or creates a memory. I love colour and am inspired by my surroundings. When I walk into my studio and create, it makes my heart sing. I love to share my joy of creating with others.

I went on to study Art Education at COFA, UNSW for 4 years and loved every moment of it. I majored in Etching and Painting. I have been practicing as a professional artist for the last 23 years and have had many solo and group exhibitions throughout NSW, ACT and one in QLD!

 Each year I donate several works to charities as I feel it is important to give back.

I currently sell my mixed media pieces through the Longtrack Pantry in Jugiong. I sell through my Instagram and Facebook accounts as well as my website www.stephaniecorkhillhyles.com
