Hey everybody, welcome to KOBLIZZY! This week I’m celebrating queerness in all capacities, and specifically making a point to uplift drag artists and trans/non-binary peoples. This past week, I was afforded the distinct pleasure of meeting Jorgeous from RuPaul’s Drag Race S14 at a gay bar in Atlanta! She was so gracious, and it was a pleasure to talk to her for a few minutes and take some photos. She also lit the stage on firrrreeee! I posted an iPhone video of one of her numbers on my personal TikTok account @koblizzy.
I talk about how much I love drag in general and how I would love to be a drag queen… the only thing that has kept me from it this long is how much goes into it - hair removal, make-up artistry, wig-styling, garment-making, padding, pantyhose, tucking… OH MY!
On June 11, non-binary Broadway performers J. Harrison Ghee (Some Like it Hot) and Alex Newell (Shucked) made Tony Awards history by becoming the first two out non-binary actors to win Leading Actor in a Musical and Featured Actor in a Musical, respectively. Thank you, God!
