Virtual Reality. The visual trickery a computer can play on our eyes to trick our brains into believing we are someplace we actually are not. You have seen the videos of people following off a beam despite being right in their living room. Or people running into walls when being chased by a zombie. But, how can this be? These people are wearing a relatively heavy headset, and holding controllers in their hands. Yet, they seem to believe they are inside whatever they see on the headset. How is this possible? What even causes the ability for us to see in three-dimensions on a screen inches from our face? What is Virtual Reality? What is the Metaverse? Is Virtual Reality the future of our society and how we interact with each other? Or is it just a recent fad that will die off like bell bottom jeans? Well, the only way to find out is to start thinking logically about technology.
