Recorded from an old cassette labelled "Al Bradley - 24.06.98", this is very clearly when I had an obsession with Paper, Salt City Orchestra & the UK deep house sound & signaled a shift for me away from more US/vocal style vibes. The two sides were recorded as individual 45-min mixes, so I've just put them together here & boosted the volume. I think this mix shows why the UK deep sound from 20 years ago still totally holds its own now. Hope you enjoy!

Ahead of his digital release "It's Over Now" (ft. Mary O) on 3am, it's something of a pleasure to bring you this superb mix from Crispin J Glover, one of the UKs finest producers who has been pushing quality sounds onto the dancefloors of the world since the late 80s. For the uninitiated among you, here's what you need to know...

Crispin released his first single, ‘Happy’ in 1989 via SoHo’s Black Market Records & has since recorded well over 100 12” singles encompassing Garage, Techno, Deep House, Latin, R’n’B, & Funk hitting sales in excess of 250,000 units in that time.

He launched his own label, the classic Matrix Records back in 1992, releasing ‘Northern Lights’ by Caucasian Boy (Crispin himself, no less), which was then licensed to the inimitable Strictly Rhythm & this was a massive global success, shifting a hefty 18,000+ units. It's still hammeredd today & was included on a mix CD selected by a certain Josh Wink for DJ Magazine not too long ago.

Another recording from Distrikt in Leeds from the 3am Recordings 14th birthday on June 10th; this time 3am & Distrikt regular Phil Towers (Mujina Code / Hearts Of Darkness) turns in a set which takes in disco, early 90s house, techno, dub vibes & a few of his own brand new cuts being given their first ever airings - 60 minutes of "identikit" tracky house this is not :)

We recently celebrated the 14th birthday of 3am Recordings down at Leeds' awesome Distrikt, a place which has always supported 3am & where we've played for 7 years now, always a pleasure. This is a recordings of Al Bradley in the warm-up, around 10.30-11.30 or so, keeping it nice & deep :) On the night we also had Phil Towers (3am / Mujina Code) & Michael Scott (3am / Oh So Coy), whose mixes will also be going up.

3am Recordings' return to 12' in March 2016 was a rip-roaring success - TAM088 went straight into the Juno Deep House Top 10 & also hovered just outside the Top 10 for all genres. The EP also heralded 3am main-man Al Bradley making his debut appearance on vinyl.

Here he goes one step further, with his debut artist release on vinyl; the original of Night Owl has been working like a charm at gigs - a deep & bass-heavy affair, coming on like Franck Roger wearing his slightly more chunky-vibed studio hat (or something.....)

Providing the first remix we welcome Pressed For Time main dude Goshawk, aka Matt Rivem of Rhythm Plate infamy. Taking the cue from the original bass, the Goshawk remix heads into key-led deepness, with added percussion elements & warm vibes ago-go.

Next up is fellow 3am geezer Michael Scott, who also made his debut on wax on TAM088. Taking a real diversion from the Original Mix, here Michael strips things right back, utilizing the vocal clip & reworking the vibe of the track, with clever use of the sounds from the Original.

Closing the release we welcome fourfourfour, whose previous appearances on 3am were as one half of Noseur; their remix of Black Blooms was no'1 on the 3am Beatport chart for several months. Andrew Gibson, working solo as fourfourfour, heads into Germanic electronic territory on his remix, shifting the focus of the track to the main percussive section & coming out with a really powerful yet stripped back remix, closing the 12' in superb style.
