On a very special Christmas Episode of 3rd Degree Byrne, Tim and Brian welcome guest podcaster Frank Canapa as the three of them go over a little known treat from the past of John Byrne.
Back in 1973, before he had even started working professionally, John Byrne had drawn a full 30 page Fantastic Four story as Fan fiction. It has seen print only once as a special in an issue of Comics Interview. And it only has seen inks on to Mr. Byrnes penciled work back in 2006 as part of a contest on Byrnes website, www.byrnerobotics.com.
So follow the links and follow along as the three of us dissect the early, early work of John Byrne.
It is truly a treat.
Here are the penciled pages: http://www.artofjohnbyrne.com/gallery/earlydays/fanfic/ff1973_large/JBFF1973pg01.jpg.php
